The sequel continues the adventures of rookie police officer Judy Hopps and her partner Nick Wilde, whose partnership is tested when a mysterious reptile named Gary De’Snake arrives in the city and sparks a complicated investigation. As the pair follow the clues, their case leads them into new and unexplored corners of Zootopia, expanding the world introduced in the original film and bringing new characters and environments into the story.
Directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, the film reunites voice actors Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman as Judy and Nick, with Ke Huy Quan joining the cast as Gary De’Snake. The movie first premiered in theaters on November 26, 2025 before making its way to home media, including Digital release in January 2026 and Blu-ray and DVD editions in early March. Opening over the Thanksgiving 2025 weekend, it made approximately $158.8 million domestically. The approximate final box office numbers included $427.3 million domestically and another $1.437 billion internationally for a total of $1.864 billion.
