🎬 Theatrical Releases

1931 - Mickey Steps Out premiered. This classic Mickey Mouse short features Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto on a lively outing interrupted by an alley cat, showcasing early character animation and humor. 

1963 - Summer Magic was released in theaters. Starring Hayley Mills and Burl Ives, the family musical became one of Disney'smemorable live-action films of the 1960s.

1971 - Pinocchio returned to theaters in a successful nationwide re-release, introducing the animated classic to a new generation of audiences.

1972 - Now You See Him, Now You Don't premiered in Edmonton, Canada. Medfield College student Dexter Riley, played by Kurt Russell, comes up with a lab experiment that produces invisibility. 

1976 - Gus debuted in theatres. The family comedy tells the story of a mule with an incredible talent for kicking footballs.

2000 - The Kid premiered. Starring Bruce Willis, the fantasy comedy follows an image consultant who encounters his eight-year-old self. 

2004 - King Arthur opened in theaters under Disney's Touchstone Pictures banner, presenting a grounded interpretation of the Arthurian legend.

2006 - Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest premiered in theaters. The sequel became a worldwide blockbuster and was the first Disney film to surpass $1 billion at the global box office. 

2017 - Spider-Man: Homecoming, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Sony Pictures, opened in theaters, marking the first standalone Spider-Man film within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

📀 Home Media

1998 - Good Will Hunting was released on VHS  and DVD through Miramax Home Entertainment. At the time, Miramax was owned by Disney, making it part of Disney's corporate home entertainment catalog.

⭐ Milestones and Disney History

1971 - Disney Legend Ub Iwerks passed away. As Walt Disney's longtime collaborator and the co-creator of Mickey Mouse, Iwerks revolutionized animation through his artistic talent and technical innovations. His influence continues to be felt throughout Disney animation.
